Wat Sampov Pram in Bokor

This place is gorgeous! And to think it was not on my ‘to visit’ list last time we went to Bokor Mountains! Thankfully, some Khmer relatives insisted we check it out. It was so foggy and misty when we visited adding to the wet and eerie feeling on some of my photos.

I spent a good hour or two just walking around! Yes, I love places like this.

Wat Sampov Pram Bokor

It’s called Wat Sampov Pram or 5 Boats Wat. Located at Bokor Mountains in Kampot. This wat was built by King Monivong in 1924. It’s perched on unusually shaped rock formations and a portion of it has a deep drop and makes for stunning vistas of sea and forest.

The area is often misty so the walls of the wat has a lot of moss and other discoloration and I find that effect quite fascinating. If you love textures and places with air of mystery, this wat is a great place. I wish I climbed a bit on top of the hill opposite so I could take top panoramic shots but hubby cautioned me not to as I’m clumsy and it was really wet and slippery. Sigh. Next time for sure.

On the blogging front… Props to me! Ha! I’ve been posting a lot more frequently these past few weeks. And hopefully, I’ll be able to finish my drafts and the crazy amounts of photos I have in my archive for this blog.
